WE WELCOME YOU TO OUR WEBSITE.  Thanks for dropping in and visiting the site of a great Church located 5 miles east of Wildwood on East County Road 468 in the heart of Central Florida.  

Without a doubt, our congregation  is the friendliest group of  SENIORS you could ever hope to meet.  We haven't forgotten how to laugh…and we know how to cry, especially when one of our neighbors are hurting.  When they hurt we hurt with them and then everyone pitches in to offer help.  In other words, when we find a hurt we do what we can to heal it.

First Christian Church (formerly Continental Christian Church), Disciples of Christ, had its beginning on September 12th, 1999.  We began  meeting in the Community Center at Continental Country Club.   We started with twelve and today we are beginning to break the one hundred mark during  our winter months.  We owe a great debt of gratitude to Continental Country Club for providing a place for our Church to meet.

 We have just completed our new building at 6900 E. CR 468 next to the back entrance to Continental Country Club and had our first worship on Christmas Sunday.   Our Church is one mile from hwy 44, which is  the road that runs from I-75 to Wildwood and Leesburg.  The building is beautiful and comfortable.  We have uplifting sermons, a great music program and a state-of-the-art sound and video system.

Most of our people dress very casual and our worship begins at 10:00 AM (after all, noon is a good tee time).  Our Church School is at 9:00 AM.   

Rev. M. Linda Yarborough  and Rev. Charles L. (Chuck) Yarborough are the start-up ministers and co-pastors of the Church.  Linda is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and Chuck is a native of Raeford, North Carolina.  Both are ordained ministers in The Christian Church, (Disciples of Christ) and have standing in the Region of Florida.
