Our winter attendance has been going over the top. For the past few weeks we have been running 110, 114, and 120 in worship. It is a real joy to preach to a large group.
The choir is also growing with 16 members and they sound great as they lead our worship in music every Sunday. Mary Lou Kniffen adds to the ministry of music with her keyboard playing as well as the Hammered Dulcimer, (I really like that.) She also provides special music with small groups ie., trios and duets etc. We will start preparing for a great Easter with special music. As always, we continue to look for new choir members.
ON MARCH 3rd WE WILL HAVE A NEW MEMBERS SUNDAY…a special day when we receive new members as a group. Then on Wednesday March 10th we will celebrate by having a special dinner for the new members. NEW MEMBERFS YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BRING FOOD (…this time).
Everything is looking great for the future of our church. Robert Smith, the town manager of Wildwood was a guest speaker at our Wednesday Night Alive program and he answered questions for about an hour on the future of our community. Route 44 and CR 468, (our church road) will have shopping plazas, hospitals, houses and a four-lane road in front of our church that will connect to the Florida Turnpike. Yes, the future could not be brighter for our church. Now, we must prepare for the growth this will bring.
Last Sunday we had The Opus 3 jazz group performed at our church. They were great. The Gospelaires will be with us on the last Saturday of February and the Ocala Youth Symphony will perform on the last Sunday in March.
Please remember Charlie Frakes and Phyllis Briggs who are unable to be with us this winter because of illness. Continue to lift them, and others in prayer.
Blessing,
Chuck and Linda
